Owners of a 5,000 square foot home in the gated Domain community in San Antonio, Texas, needed reliable cellular signal inside the house due to one of the spouses being a transportation company owner and needing 24/7/365 connectivity.  They had a Cel-Fi Quatra cell phone signal booster system installed resulting in four to five bars of reliable 4G LTE cell phone reception around entire house including outdoor patio areas.


Issues:


The home owners needed quality 4G LTE cell phone signal for quality data and voice connectivity in their 5,000 square foot home.  Lack of 4G LTEcoverage in the house was due to their home's quality building materials including stucco, stone wall and Radiant Barrier insulation encompassing the building.  The home is built on a sloped site.  At the top of the hill driveway entrance there is good  quality service, but as you go down the hill toward the house, the cell signal decreases in signal strength.  The house had multiple attics which were not connected which made using solutions that ran off of coaxial cable impossible; but the house had been prewired with cat5e cable.  The original low voltage contractor did a poor job in terminating the cat5e ends by using wire nuts and crimp on connectors.  As part of the job, we redid all of the cat5e connectors and mounted a new termination box with proper telephone modules.


Radiant barriers are highly reflective and used to ensure radiant heat has been redirected.  Radiant barriers are heavily used in warm climates, particularly in American southern climates. However, the combination of a stucco wall and radiant barrier doesn't just block solar heat; it also affects cellular signal and radio waves from penetrating from outside. The result was no 4G coverage inside the home.


Solution:


A detailed survey was carried out across the home by our RF technicians. Signal readings were done from outside and inside the home for the most ideal cellular coverage amplifier to be recommended. The cable routes were impossible for coaxial cable solutions, but since the home had cat5e wiring in it, we were able to use the Cel-Fi Quatra as an excellent solution.

Due to the size of the home, building materials and other factors identified during the survey, Cel-Fi Quatra with three coverage units was selected because of its ability to work in large homes and receive some of the strongest cellular signal on the outside without any overload or damage on the amplifier unit.


Installation:


With the Cel-Fi Quatra, antenna and cable routes were identified and installation was carried out around the home. Results:

Randolph Air Force Base

Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas had cellular reception problems.


Issues:

In two of the buildings on the base there were many offices which could not get proper cellular service due to the construction of the building.  The buildings are both two story brick commercial buildings with tar and gravel roofs.  This was a major impediment to proper cellular service.


Solution:

A detailed survey was done by our RF technicians.  Signal readings were taken inside and out and a plan was created to install a Wilson Pro 1000 system in each building with multiple indoor repeater antennae locations.  The Wilson Pro 1000 was selected for its strength and quality performance.  


Installation:

Owners of a 40,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Victoria, Texas which also encompassed two 4,000 square foot floors on top of each other of offices and a separate office wing with about 2,000 square feet of office space with little or no cellular signal inside the building.


Issues:

The owners needed quality 4G cell phone signal for quality data and voice connectivity in their facility; primarily in the office area, but also in the manufacturing area as well. Lack of 4G coverage in the building was due to building being constructed of corrugated metal and a corrugated metal roof as well. The building created a complete cellular dead-zone in its interior.
